Last Minute Gift Ideas by Amy Vastine

I like to consider myself someone who can juggle a lot of things at once. I manage three kids and a husband while working outside the home and even squeezing in writing books here and there.  I make sure the dog gets fed every day and will drop everything for a friend in need. There is one little thing that tends to get me in trouble from time to time … I’m constantly late. I am late for everything. Yep, I am that mom baking cookies for bake sale the hour before the bake sale. I can also be seen jogging across the parking lot at work because I’m about to clock in two minutes late.

This disease I have definitely impacts my Christmas shopping. Thank goodness for Amazon’s free two-day shipping. I’d be in big trouble without it! With the holidays approaching, I can assure you I will not be finished with my shopping until all the way up to Christmas Eve. If you are like me, here are some excellent last minute gift ideas.

Yummy Treats - When you’re crunched for time, all you have to do is rummage through the pantry for some flour and sugar. Whip up a batch of your favorite Christmas cookies and dress them up by putting them in a mason jar tied with some pretty ribbon. It’s cost effective and delicious! What could be better?

Insulated Water Bottle - Environmentally responsible and they come in a variety of colors. Some have sayings, some are covered in cute prints like watermelons or whales. There’s really something for everyone. Better yet, you can pick them up at Target (who doesn’t live by a Target?) and be home wrapping it up in no time!

Coffee Mug and Coffee - With a millions different designs and ways to personalize, a coffee mug and a bag of your friend’s favorite coffee is the perfect last minute gift! Wait, what if your friend doesn’t drink coffee? Get them some hot chocolate instead! Don’t know what hot beverage they prefer? Grab a Starbucks gift card and let them choose how to fill their cup.

Amazon Gift Card - Okay, I know this might seem like a cop out, but name me one person who doesn’t want a few bucks to buy whatever their heart desires at Amazon? It’s the perfect last minute gift for the reader in your life (maybe they haven’t picked up their copy of Heartwarming Holiday Wishes yet) or the outdoorsman who needs some new fishing gear. Amazon has everything for everyone. You can’t go wrong!

In Heartwarming Holiday Wishes, Amy Vastine contributed A Case For Christmas Magic. Her most recent Harlequin Heartwarming release is Catch a Fallen Star.
